Support race of the French Grand Prix, the second round of the European MX2 championship offered a great opportunity for Dylan Ferrandis to collect his first International success. With Dylan’s win, team Rockstar energy Bud Racing Kawasaki shines in front of 30000 spectators.

After his great performance a week ago in the final round of the French Elite series, Dylan was all weekend long very competitive in the European series. Runner up during the qualifications behind series leader Tonkov, with the fastest race lap, Dylan was unlucky in the first heat as a stone damaged an electrical connection during the third lap! The engine stopped and Dylan was forced to retire, but that was not enough to break his determination for the second race. Starting in fourth position, he passed Tonkov and Aubin to put some pressure on the race leader who made a mistake in the sixth lap. Dylan took the lead and did a very strong race, to cross the finish line twenty seconds ahead of his rivals! He will be in Portugal and Spain in the coming week-ends, to continue his charge in this competitive series.

In the MX1 class the duo of Gregory Aranda and Davide Guarneri continue to suffer misfortune. Aranda battled defiantly to finish 14th in the second race, even though the 21 year old has been diagnosed as suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and is encountering great difficulties in holding on. Together with the Bud team he has now decided to bring forward the date of his operation so he will miss the spanish GP as he endeavours to be ready for the second half of the GP season. Guarneri also showed his bravery in the wake of a heavy crash a few weeks ago in Brasil, but was finding it more and more difficult to concentrate as the races wore on and inevitably lost places in the closing stages of each to finish 19th and 16th after fighting in 10th most of the race.

In the meantime, Livia Lancelot was winning again both of the 3 motos of the french women championship in Epinal in north east of France and now has 58 points lead in the women championship.

Gregory Aranda: “Last Wednesday I went for a medical check and the doctor confirmed that I am suffering from the carpal tunnel syndrome in my right arm. The plan was to go for surgery after Spain, so I wouldn’t miss any GPs, but this was again a difficult weekend for me. I can’t hold the bike and that’s frustrating and dangerous, so we’ve decide together with the team to have the operation already next week.”

Davide Guarneri: “After my big crash in Brazil I haven’t been able to train so much, and that showed when I didn’t qualified so well on Saturday so my position on the grid was not so good. I was thirteenth for most of the first race and tenth for 20 minutes of the second race, but I started to feel a headache and dropped back in the closing laps of both races.”

Stephane Dassé: “What a great win for Dylan he gave to the team end all our partners a nice reward to our investment! It’s incredible to see how unlucky he was in the first race, when a stone damaged a TPS electrical connection under the fuel tank! He reacted as a real champion in the next race, and we’re sure that he will win other heats soon. It was a real pleasure to see him winning, especially as the MX1 races were disappointed for us; Greg as too much problem with his right arm so he will go for surgery next week, and Davide is still affected by his big crash in Brazil so none of them can ride at his real level.”
