The ninth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship took place at Maggiora in northern Italy, and marked the halfway of the series. Coming with great expectations after his podium result in France, Dylan Ferrandis was unlucky while teammate Jason Clermont got a twelfth overall during his third GP with the Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki team. Rockstar Energy Racing had to deal with inclement weather for the first time during this outdoor season. Historic Highpoint Raceway experienced sever thunderstorms the day prior to the National. The crew did an excellent job sealing the track overnight so the water would run off the racing surface and not soak in. Rockstar Energy Racing migrated to Muddy Creek Raceway to begin a swing of several consecutive nationals on the East Coast. This first stop represented the first Motcross National in the Southeast in 15 years. Needless to say that caused much excitement as moto deprived fans came out in droves. Round 2 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship headed into the mountains of Lakewood, CO. The track sits over a mile above sea level causing severe power loss to bikes and an added variable to the stamina of the riders. High elevation cause cause dizziness, headaches, nausea and shortness of breath which are all unwelcome symptoms to athletes already competing in one of the toughest sports physically in the world. Rockstar Energy Racing migrated to Northern California for the opening round of the Lucas Oil Outdoor Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown MX in Rancho Cordova. The Dirt Diggers track crew always brings in several dump truck loads of rice husk to mix into the soil to hold moisture and create lines on the track built on the Prairie ORV National Park's land.
